Life is So Much Better with a Guitar Table
So I made this guitar table back in High School and realized that instead of it just hanging out collecting dust in my garage in Wausau I should really crank it out again and put it to good use. And, after a long 21 hour drive to Atlanta, the infamous guitar table made its debut in the family room of my new apartment, and quite frankly, I think it has made quite the impression. Or at least I like to think it has :) !!!

A New Place, New Friends and New Inspirations
I moved to Atlanta about two weeks ago and so far I love it! I've met a lot of super nice people which has definitely made the move a lot easier. I moved in with my sister to basically try something new. I graduated college in August and I decided that I needed a break from the freezing Minnesota winter! I am considering this a little transition period while I am applying to graduate schools while also designing some clothes on my own. It's great because I set up a little studio space in my room. I can have it as messy as I want, and instead of cleaning it up everyday I can just work on something and clean it up when I'm completely finished. If I don't want people to see the mess I can just simply close my door. Its a big difference from the kitchen I was working in back in Minneapolis. Here's a quick sample of a dress that I started a couple of days ago. The fabric isn't my favorite, but I thought I would just experiment with fabric I already had. It's tough being unemployed and having to think about buying fabric; sometimes you have to just "make it work!" -Tim Gunn
Joynoelle Internship
I thought I would also post pictures of some of the other dresses that we worked on throughtout our time with Joynoelle. These pictures are from the Joynoelle Fashion Show in Minneapolis on
October 1st.
Flashing lights, city nights, busy streets, I love New York.
Alright so I know I haven't written on here for about two months but I decided that I am going to make it my New Years Resolution to start up again. For some reason I feel like 2010 is going to be one heck of a year, or at least that is what I am hoping for...fingers crossed, and I think I'm going to want to have this year documented. But before that starts, I think I need to catch you up on a few things that I have done this year, starting with the amazing intern trip I took to New York in October. Lets just say, it was one heck of a week! It started with the Bridal Couture Show, where I ended up getting to model some of the dresses that we worked on all summer for some photographers, buyers, and editors of magazines. I'm not going to lie but it was pretty darn cool. Seeing that I am only 5'4 the 6 inch heels that we bought for me to wear was very strange. I'd have to say I don't mind being 5'10. After the three day Bridal Couture Show we were all inviting to the Martha Stewart 50th Anniversary Party at The Plaza Hotel. This was by far the prettiest and most elegant party I have ever been too. I almost felt guilty being there among some of bridal fashions elite. People like Randy Fenoli and the rest of Kleinfelds staff was there along with Robert Verdi and we can't leave out Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto who was making sushi.

Never Underestimate the Power of Steam
I worked with Laura Nelli today of NELLE handbags. It was a super awesome time. She is a very talented handbag designer who I have a feeling is going to make it very big someday. She has a huge order going out in two weeks where she has to make 150 handbags all on her own!! CRAZY huh! I ironed for a whole 6 hours straight and didn't realize until now how much it hurts when you steam your finger. It is burning more now than it did when I did it. That steam is some powerful stuff.
Everyone should check out NELLE handbags at http://www.nellehandbags.com/

Another Day Down and Times a Tickin
Well today was quite the day. I went to my internship this morning and realized we only have 9 more days until the big fashion show!! Ahhhh lordy lordy there is so much to do! I ended up taking home a jacket and a wedding dress that I need to finish by Thursday morning. It's going to be cutting it kind of close considering I am working at Anthropologie too! Lots and lots of handstitching and beading to do.
Ok well I have to go decorate my apartment now, it's my roommates big 23 tomorrow, or should I say today? I mean it is 12:26 AM.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRETA!!
AND besides all my internship stuff I need complete my dress too! I finally decided on the belt part... check it out!
